Gallery @ DNA
In developing the new facility at 280 Broadway, Dance New Amsterdam sought to include an accessible and open space where different mediums of art could be exchanged. The Gallery @ DNA was constructed to provide a gathering place for the community, an informal space to show work and a collaborative space to share art. The Gallery @ DNA is available to enhance students’ experiences by allowing them to connect dance to other forms of art; it also welcomes new audiences and artists from across the city.
Call for Submissions
DNA is accepting applications from artists who would like to exhibit in the sunroof-lit gallery located on the second floor next to the theater. Two and three dimensional work is welcomed. Any framing, mounting and/or projection costs are the artist’s responsibility. DNA will provide publicity for the exhibition. As a dance center, we will give preference to movement-oriented work, however, this is not a prerequisite for submitting. The three gallery walls are 22′, 8′ and 8′ wide (ceiling is a glass sunroof about 25′ high). Exact space available is subject to change.
To submit work for consideration, send up to 12 images (slides, jpg images on CD or links to a web gallery) along with an artist statement and resume or CV. Please send images of the exact pieces you are proposing to exhibit. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope with adequate postage if you would like DNA to return submission materials.
