Class Description
The Hula Hoop has reemerged into American culture in the last decade in the form of Contemporary Hoop Dance, or Hooping. Hooping utilizes large, adult-sized hoops with diameters reaching 40”, offering slower rotation speeds and higher return of success. This open-level class will introduce new students to basic Hooping techniques such as hooping around the waist, weight transfers, simple turns and reversals, while pushing the advanced hooper with more challenging tricks such as chest and shoulder hooping, on-to-off-body transfers and isolations. In addition, students are given an open-ended “license to flail,” in an effort to utilize their intrinsic dance-pertice to create new shapes and patterns within and beyond the Hoop.
No experience necessary. Hoops will be available for use or students may bring their own.

Just some benefits of Hooping:
Boosts cardiovascular endurance, Loosens tightness in hips and low back, Stress relief, Promotes laughter and elevates mood!
