Class Description: Slow Intermediate, Intermediate & Advanced

Diane McCarthy has been a teacher of Contemporary Simonson Technique since 1988. Simonson Technique, developed by Lynn Simonson, is a comprehensive and anatomically based technique that prepares the body to dance with awareness and safety.

Diane’s full movement phrases teach dancers to apply technique, explore musicality and work on performance qualities. Diane encourages students to make personal choices about dynamics and phrasing, both in movement and stillness. Her classroom is a place for all dancers to find their inner strength, remember the passion to move-and then, “let go”.
