VOLUNTEER
DNA is entrepreneurial, adaptive and dynamic; cross-sector and cross-discipline pollination makes for great art and a great organization - your skills are welcome and needed. You can make a difference by being present! Contact development at development@dnadance.org.

As we move forward with our fundraising efforts, we want you to be able to give to the areas you care about most. We have created three different funds catered to YOU, the eclectic dance connoisseur:

studio to stageStudio to Stage
Do you care about thorough dance training? Do you want to further the development of young professionals and established performing artists?

This fund will allow DNA to keep class and rental prices low, to create innovative programs, to expand opportunities for all dancers, and to initiate deeper youth and teen training to develop the next generation.

DNA provides funding to more than 10 artistic development programs, impacting thousands of artists yearly. DNA also provides 120 weekly classes at close to one third the market rate and provides competitive rental rates.

This fund also supports specific “studio to stage” programs, including Choreographic Investigation Course, Works In Progress, Visa Voices, Performance Project, RAW Directions and RAW Material.

Do you value the complexities of producing live performance culminating in the DNA Presents season? Does DNA’s commitment to the spectrum of dance artistry excite you? Do you want to shore up the inner workings of a theatre?

This fund benefits the artists in our theater and the avid theater-goer. Help DNA keep our tickets prices low, provide rehearsal space to our talented artists, and support our hard-working theater apprentices and crew. In addition, this will support audience development, a ticket subscription program, and new ways to get the audience and the artist involved and engaged with each other.

DNA has presented over 380 performances since the launch of DNA PRESENTS in 2006. Known for supporting artists who explore and expound upon existing boundaries, DNA’s artist residency opportunities give the freedom and opportunity to create and refine their work at all stages.

Do you want to magnify dance’s role in the revitalization of Lower Manhattan? Do you want to grow DNA as a cultural hub within the New York and Lower Manhattan community? Do you want to get more involved with neighboring businesses and individuals?

This fund will support outreach events, community engagement and opportunities to increase exposure and visibility of DNA classes and performances, starting with local initiatives and growing to DNA’s worldwide community.

DNA relocated to Lower Manhattan to be part of the post-9/11 revitalization efforts and provide the community with a central hub for high-quality dance education and performance opportunities. At the center of DNA is a strong community that focuses on quality cultural development and cares about interacting with its local community.

Your donations to these campaigns support the full range of DNA’s activities, advancing our mission to provide valuable opportunities for the aspiring, emerging and established artist. Your gifts are part of “Building Blocks to Recovery,” DNA’s five-year strategic vision to achieve financial stability, and every dollar you donate supports both DNA’s artists and community.

“Dance New Amsterdam has been committed to informing dancers to the importance of being well-rounded in order to progress in the field. The more skills developed, the stronger the dancer. Increased skills means career longevity and options for future opportunities.” - Layla Macoran, Examiner
