International Student Visa Program

Study dance in New York City in a 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month program!
A message to international students from DNA’s Executive Director
The International Student Visa Program at Dance New Amsterdam offers developing artists from all over the world the opportunity to train with today’s dance masters and to be part of New York City’s vibrant dance community. Since 1997, the program has hosted more than 650 students from over 40 different countries.
The International Student Visa Program is an independent study program open to international students of all levels, beginner through professional. A one-on-one session with a DNA faculty member gives each student personal feedback and a foundation for beginning the program. Students create an individual curriculum, choosing from the numerous styles, techniques, and levels offered in the open class schedule at Dance New Amsterdam.
While enrolled in the International Student Visa Program, students have access to the many specialized programs and workshops offered at DNA, including teaching certifications in Pilates and Simonson Technique, the Choreographic Investigation Course, and DNA Mentorship, which provides ongoing one-on-one feedback from faculty. Students also have many performance opportunities, in the Performance Project with DNA faculty, in Visa Voices showings for student choreographers, and in Works-in-Progress showings. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to see extraordinary dance companies perform at the DNA theater and at dance venues all over New York City.
International students are provided with support from DNA throughout their studies for student visa issues, class and program questions, and adjusting to life in New York City.
Dance New Amsterdam is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
