Internship Program

Dance New Amsterdam is currently seeking letters of interest and resumés for the Internship Program. Internship positions are available in all arts administration disciplines. Interns must commit to a minimum of 10 hours per week. Internships are unpaid but academic credit and classes at DNA will be given when applicable. Post graduates are welcome to apply.

All interested applicants should possess excellent computer skills, an aptitude for research, strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Dance New Amsterdam promotes and cultivates a unique environment for dancers and performing artists, and we ask interested applicants to join us with a commitment of 3 - 6 months.

Executive/Management

A flexible opportunity for a creative individual to work closely with executive management. Gain experience in general management, fundraising, budget analysis, contracts, board relations and other organizational decisions. Excellent writing and computer skills required. A current academic focus in financial management a plus.

Marketing

Opportunity to be a part of a fast-paced department handling advertising, promotions, public relations and graphic design. The internship will focus on creating outreach materials for DNA’s community of artists and patrons, as well as developing relationships with community partners. Assist designers in execution of workflow, including updating materials such as flyers and brochures. Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop on MAC platform helpful.

An opportunity to learn about the ever-important fundraising responsibilities of a nonprofit organization. Assist the development staff with grant construction, funder correspondence, research into new prospects, individual giving campaigns, and other general administrative tasks. Strong research and writing skills required as well as strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of DNA and other NYC dance organizations preferred. Previous fundraising experience a plus.

School
Status: Currently seeking a Children &Teens Programming Intern

Assist in all general administrative duties within DNA’s educational department. An opportunity to participate in the development of special school programs, classes, events and workshops. A current academic focus in business management and/or education a plus.
