Alex moved to New York City in 2010 after completing her MFA in dance at the University of Oregon. After working as a volunteer for DNA - handing out flyers and working free-class day and open house events, she moved into the theater and began working as an usher, house manager, crew member, and production supervisor. In January of 2012 she began working as the Executive Assistant to Executive/Artistic Director Catherine Peila.

Outside of DNA, Alex works as a dancer and choreographer for the contemporary modern dance company (Alex)andra Taylor Dance, while freelancing with other dance artists. She also works very closely with composers Sam L. Richards and David C. Horton, as well as photographer, Ari Denison. Alex is one of the founding members of TRANSForm Dance Collective, a trans-national group of dance artists who gather at different locations across the U.S. for teaching residencies and performances to engage new communities in collective and collaborative art sharing.
