"Exquisite moves and gestures are tucked almost casually into the fabric of [Dunn's] dance." -Jennifer Dunning, The New York Times

DNA is thrilled to present Nothing Further, a two-week 70's revival of Dunn's intricately agile and groundbreaking work from the 1970's along with free events including costumes and video by Charles Atlas. Dunn presents a new company in a collage drawn from his signature works Time
Out (1974), Four for Nothing (1973), and One Thing Leads to Another (1971), and concludes the program with a revival
of his celebrated Coquina (1979).
This revival of Coquina was commissioned, in part, with public funds from the New York
State Council on the Arts, a state agency. DNA's collaboration with Charles Atlas was funded, in part,
by the support of New York State Assemblymember Deborah J. Glick through a grant from the NYS Office of
Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.

"Watching their movement is like watching confetti fly and unfold in the wind."
-The Brooklyn Rail

The Map and The Machine launches us into a world where two brothers simply survive,
despite the challenges of daily life. Imagination and unconditional love inform the characters'
actions and is the driving energy of the story. Is it courageous to function, quietly coping or
can they turn their fears into flight and be able to rise out of the ordinary into the extraordinary?

Lecture/Demonstration by Zena Rommett Originator of the Floor-Barre Technique

Friday, NOVEMBER 9, 2007 12 - 1:30PM
Join us for a lecture/demonstration with Zena Rommett for a nominal fee of $5.00 and receive one free pass for a Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique class at DNA with Douglas Boulivar or David Chase.
Wear comfortable clothing, be ready to move!
Please welcome Zena Rommett, living legend in the dance world and originator of Floor-Barre to DNA.
The lecture and demonstration will offer a unique opportunity to share Zena Rommett"s insights and teachings of the world renowned Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique. Floor-Barre, a ballet based technique, sculpts the body creating long exquisite lines. The dancer's physical structure is consistently centered, lengthened and strengthened. As a pioneer in injury prevention and rehabilitation, doctors specializing in the needs of dancers regularly recommend Floor-Barre. Zena Rommett has earned the reputation as a "modest legend" from a countless number of gifted performers who proclaim they owe it all to her genius for saving and extending their careers while coaching them to a new level of perfection, freedom and confidence.
"Zena Rommett is one of the most important dance pedagogues of the 20th Century." JAMES MAY, Dance historian
"I like to start my day with chapter of the Bible and Floor-Barre". JUDITH JAMISON, Artistic Director of Alvin Ailey Dance.
"The Technique works! It is a miracle!" TOMMY TUNE Broadway Showman
"The Zena Rommett Floor-Barre Technique takes the risk out of serious ballet training. This method is a refreshing breakthrough and the answer for everyone wishing to enjoy the benefits of long, lean dancer's muscles..." Dr. MARIE MICZAK
